Who we are
PropCalcs (propcalcs.com.au) is an independent publisher of Australian property calculators. We are not a credit provider, mortgage broker, financial adviser, or licensed accountant. Calculator outputs are general information only and do not constitute personal advice.
What we collect
Information you give us
When you submit the enquiry form on a market-rate card, we collect: your name, the email address and/or mobile number you provide, and the specific lender product you were viewing when you submitted. We do not require both email and mobile — one is enough.
Information we collect automatically
- Page views and basic site usage via Google Analytics 4 — anonymised IP, browser, device, country, and the calculator pages you visit. This helps us understand which tools people find useful.
- Saved-scenario datafrom calculator usage is stored in your browser’s localStorage only — it never leaves your device and we cannot read it.
We do not use behavioural advertising cookies, tracking pixels beyond GA, or session-recording tools.
How we use it
- Form submissions:to respond to your enquiry by email or SMS about the specific product you asked about. That’s the only use.
- Analytics: to measure aggregate site usage and improve the calculators. We do not connect analytics data to your enquiry submission.
Who we share it with
Today, we don’t share enquiry details with any third parties. Submissions arrive in our inbox and stay there until we respond and then archive them.
If that changes— for example, if we partner with a licensed mortgage broker for product comparisons — we will update this policy and the enquiry form to disclose the partner’s identity before any data is shared. Existing submissions made under this version of the policy will not be passed on retroactively.
We use the following processors strictly to operate the site:
- Resend — delivers form-submission notifications to our inbox. Resend processes the data on our behalf and does not use it for any other purpose. See Resend’s privacy policy.
- Google Analytics 4 — anonymised aggregate usage data. See Google’s privacy policy. You can opt out site-wide via the Google Analytics Opt-out add-on.
- Firebase App Hosting (Google Cloud) — serves the site and runs the form-submission endpoint. Subject to Firebase’s privacy and security commitments.
How long we keep it
Enquiry emails are retained in our inbox for up to 24 monthsafter the enquiry is closed, then deleted. Analytics data is retained per Google’s default settings (14 months at the user-level dimension, then aggregated only).
Where it’s stored
Email is processed via Resend’s US-region infrastructure and our inbox provider. Site hosting and the form endpoint run on Google Cloud (Singapore region). By submitting the form you consent to your information being processed outside Australia for these purposes.
Your rights
Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988, you have the right to:
- request access to the personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct it if it’s wrong;
- ask us to delete it (unless we’re required to keep it for legal reasons);
- opt out of further communications at any time.
Use the contact form with your request — we aim to respond within 14 days.
Cookies
We use minimal cookies: Google Analytics sets _ga and _ga_* first-party cookies to distinguish unique visitors. We do not use third-party advertising cookies, social tracking cookies, or session-replay cookies. Your browser can block all of these — the calculators will keep working.
Children
PropCalcs is not directed at people under 18 and we do not knowingly collect information from minors. If you believe a child has submitted information, let us know and we will delete it.
Complaints
If you’re not satisfied with how we’ve handled your information, you can lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
Changes to this policy
We’ll update the last updated date at the top of this page when the policy changes. Material changes — for example, sharing data with a new partner — will be flagged on the homepage for at least 30 days.
